At FOUND LOVE everyone confirms step by step that they really are who they say they are. The principle: as much certainty as necessary, as little data as possible.

Note:
FOUND LOVE is exclusively for people aged 18 and over. Your age is asked at sign-up and confirmed during identity verification.

Five levels, building on each other.

Others don’t see a level or a score, only badges: “Identity verified”, “Age verified”, “Photo verified”.

    Account created

    Email address, password and date of birth.

    What it unlocks

    Prepare your profile and onboarding.

  2. Level1

    Email confirmed

    Click a link that is valid for 24 hours.

    What it unlocks

    Continue to phone confirmation.

  3. Level2

    Phone confirmed

    Six-digit code by text message. A number can only belong to one account – which makes duplicate and bot accounts harder.

    What it unlocks

    Continue to identity verification.

  4. Level3From here

    Identity & age confirmed

    Through an official or specialised identity service. FOUND LOVE only receives the result.

    What it unlocks

    Receive suggestions, appear as a suggestion, send messages with Premium. “Identity” and “Age” badges.

  5. Level4

    Photo confirmed

    A check that your profile photo shows you – done by the verification service, not by us.

    What it unlocks

    Additional “Photo verified” badge.

What we store – and what we don’t.

Stored

  • Whether and when email, phone, identity, age and photo were confirmed
  • Your date of birth (for the age limit and showing your age)
  • Your phone number only as an encrypted check value (hash) – not in plain text
  • Which verification service was used and a pseudonymous identifier, also only as a hash

Never stored

  • ID images or scans
  • Name and sex marker from your ID – you choose your display name and gender identity yourself
  • ID or passport numbers
  • Biometric data such as facial features
  • Your exact location
  • Your IP address in plain text

Integration in preparation – follows accreditation

ID Austria

ID Austria is the preferred route for people in Austria. Private companies can register as service providers. The technical integration (OpenID Connect) is prepared. It will only go live after accreditation as a service provider – until then this route is not available.

For anyone who can’t or doesn’t want to use ID Austria, an external, specialised verification service is planned. The choice of provider, a data processing agreement and a data protection impact assessment are still pending.

Development environment

In the current development version, verification is only simulated. It is clearly marked there as a development environment.
Note:
If a verification service is temporarily unavailable, we tell you clearly and you can try again later. Everything you have entered so far is kept.

Why the effort?

Because a matchmaking service only works if you can rely on the other person. Fake profiles, bots and scams thrive on accounts that cost nothing. Real identity verification makes that much harder – for everyone equally.
